The Design: Like the beautiful waters of the Caribbean, the hypnotic teal blue of the indicolite tourmaline in this ring refreshes your spirit. The siren call of the watery depths of this one of a kind gem will make you want to dive in. The design of the ring frames this gem in the intense sunshine of fancy yellow diamonds that fade in an ombre pave pattern to white diamonds. The exquisitely shaped prongs hold the gem like flower petals while the shank is delicately shaped yet substantial enough for the bold scale of the center stone. This ring is a modern heirloom that is worthy of its rare and beautiful museum-quality gem. Size 6.25. Alexia's Inspiration: “This ring was inspired by the painting ""Ophelia"" by John Everett Millais. The lush teal green of the indicolite reminded me of the vegetation in the painting, which is very vivid. The prongs are like flower petals. They are outstretched like Ophelia’s arms in the painting, holding the gem up just like the water holds her up.” The Gems: The indicolite tourmaline featured in this ring is exceptionally fine, from a special deposit in Brazil. The deposit was discovered in the 1980s and is currently completely mined out, so it no longer produces any gems today. This museum-quality gem was acquired from a private collection. The color is completely natural and has an American Gem Laboratories certificate confirming that this gem is unheated and of the highest possible quality for a gem of its kind. This piece is one of a Kind. Made in NYC.
